Updated version = no prior year info

"Been using turbotax to file for a couple of years now. Bought the new version, wouldn't import any of my info from my prior years files that I also performed with Turbotax. If you have to purchase the new version every year to file, at least make it work w/your prior year files, what a pain."

"I have filed my own tax returns every year since I was 18 yrs old until I found I could file free and electronically using Turbo Tax in the early 90's. Since then I've used the free version every year except for 2, this being one of those years. I have been completely satsfied in every year I've filed electronically either free or not. I've used the other online services from other companies on my friend's returns and the are adequate. I feel it's worth the 30 bucks not to have to rumage through the IRS website looking for the one pub. that tells the story I need. The addition of the Live Community was quite helpful this year. Thumbs up!!"

Charitable Carryovers

"I have used Turbo Tax since 1996. Normally our itemized deductions are larger than the standard deduction. In 2008 we took the standard deduction because it was larger. In 2009,Turbo Tax asked me to enter charitable carryovers from 2008. I needed to know that taking the standard deduction does not mean you can carryover 100% of the unused charitable expenses to 2009. If Turbo Tax always calculated and transferred the allowable carryover or embedded a help link in the interview, I wouldn't have had to amend my return and pay interest."

Excellent Product

"This product has made doing my taxes easier year after year. I love being able to import data from the previous year and being reminded of forms I filled out in the past. I also like the detailed comparisons at the end of the process as well as at certain times during the process. Even though I do not have the most complicated tax return, I still get the same service and resources as others. And when I do get a more detailed return, I know TurboTax will be there for me.
