"As president of the Procrastinator's Society, I usually wait until he last minute to file my taxes every year. I often file an extension, too, if I think I don't owe much. This year I waited until the extension deadline, October 15th, to finally sit down and do my taxes. Fortunately my wife had all our important tax documents stuffed in a file so I didn't have to make many phone calls to get info. I tried to import my 2010 tax data, but TurboTax said they didn't have it under my account number. I had probably used another number last year, then forgot it. Oh well, not to worry. I pounded in all the personal data again and then let the program grab 1099-R data from the appropriate institutions. In about an hour of screwing around, I was all done and had the returns eFiled. The program is very user friendly and won't let you forget important stuff . I especially like the "probability of audit" feature near the end which helps me relax when it shows I'm in the "very low" category. Thanks TurboTax, I'll sleep peacefully tonight!"
"After completing, Paying with credit card, clicking on eFile, TurboTax comes up with errors!!! It says to go back and edit. I did this, deleted any car for business data, completed, TurboTax wanted my Credit card data again!!!!]
I finally clicked on eFile - errors regarding the car!!! I could not fix or delete it!! I could not get help. I finally ended up printing the return. Why did TurboTax take my credit card info BEFORE announcing errors.
Also, when you het the BACK button, TurboTax goes back 3-5 pages!!"
"Tried for over two hours to contact by phone and chat for some assistance. Phone would not work at all and chat service was extreamly slow more like email and was not helpfull at all. The person or system I was "chatting" with should no concern for my frustration with the time factor and the overall poor service. I doubt that I will use Turbo Tax in the future"
"Could not find answers online some of the information is not always available. My suggestion is to direct the customer/filer to the IRS Publication for more information if there are no or limited information available online on a particular subject or form. I am thankful that the deadline was on a Monday and I was able to get to a live person to complete my filing."
