Review of TurboTax Basic - CD or Download 2009Pros:- Simple to use.
Cons:- Error in education expenses deduction
"I had to go to the community to see why I was not getting the American Opportunity Credit and found that TT had marked my daughter as not a full time student though I had answered all questions correctly. I had to go to the form and manually make the change. This cost me quiet a bit of time and almost money. I almost missed this and it would have cost me over $1500.00. That is a lot of money to me."

"This is the 15th year in a row I've used TurboTax, and it just keeps getting better. I retired in 2009, which presented a slew of tax issues involvinig 401(k)s, IRAs, distributions and the like. Yet TurboTax took it all in stride, guided me safely through the IRS maze and made this tax season a real pleasure, even though I ended up owing.
I tell anybody who cares about TurboTax and encourage them to use it." -

Cons:- MobileMe backup didn't work
"I like being able to just pick up where I left off last year and carry on. Takes next to no time to get through my simple return. The only strange thing this year is the automatic backup to my MobileMe account failed, and I couldn't locate a reason or a fix."
