Cons:- Confusing
"Overall, Turbo Tax was a great way to submit my return. But after making a mistake, it was hard to figure out how to correct it when the error's would come up and rejection submissions. There was a clear reason why the error was occurring, but Turbo Tax does not tell you step by step on how to resolve the issues. I must of did my return 5 times before figuring it out myself. Calling the help line was no use as well. They would tell me the same thing over and over. Until I had to get help from a Tax Expert and be charged the fee on top of the purchase of the program and states. Tough price to pay for a simple mistake made in a section where it was very unclear what to add having 3 W-2 forms and living in one state while working in another."

Cons:- Had some issues regarding Schedule M
"No software is completely fool-proof, especially when (1) tens of millions of people are using it, and (2) it has to be compatible with a government agency. All things considered, however, TurboTax is an outstanding product. I have used it since 2002 and I am delighted with the results."

Cons:- Difficult to clear faulty entries without using worksheet
"Had to drop into the tuition expenses worksheet to clear an error and enter the data as per IRS Pub. 970. The TurboTax questions about scholarship amounts and taxable vs. non-taxable are not clear and do not match the wording in IRS Pub. 970. Once into the worksheet, everything was easy to fix.
You need a "clear and re-enter data" option on several of your entries because once an error is made your program stubbornly holds onto the bad data until the worksheet is directly changed." -

Cons:- Had to "Itemize" to get "Energy Credit"
"I filed electronically, and luckily it was rejected due to an error on my part, then I had the chance to do the return again and this time i included my $5040 expense of a new heat pump which gave me a $1500 tax credit.
Using the Standard Deduction does not allow you to get this credit." -

Cons:- None that I could find
"We are very happy with my Turbo Tax experience. The software just knew what questions to ask. It saved us a lot of time and money. My wife and I have had to pay over two hundred dollars to have our returns processed by Jackson Hewitt and H&R Block. What a rip off.
I wish we would have used Turbo Tax last year." -

Cons:- Confusing wording of questions
"I have been doing my taxes myself for about 5 years. I received a free copy of TurboTax this year so I decided to try it out. I would not recommend this to someone who knows absolutely nothing about filing taxes. Some of the questions were worded strangely and if I hadn't know what they were related to I wouldn't have known how to answer them. I have used Tax Cut in the past and I found it much more user-friendly. Overall, I liked not having to do the calculations out myself by hand, but if I had paid full price for this software I would have found it a big rip off."
