Cons:- It's complicated and slow
"We have been using Turbo tax for many years. This year, there were just too many windows. It was difficult to find the forms necessary. The program wanted to default to the guided method.
Our biggest complaint is that everything was very slow. Double-clicking on a form seemed to take about 10 seconds to open." -

Cons:- pricing of representation
"You have one price of 29.95 in one place then you charge 39.95, whats the deal.????
Also if only one vehilce is used as a vehicle expense all the mileage and information should cross over into the other spreedsheets along with all the information, if you use more then one vehicle for multiple businesses then you should beable to choose from a drop down menu. Inlcuding the mileage checks, square footage of the home used for business etc." -

Cons:- Not very helpful with LLC taxes
"TurboTax 2009 Home and Business provided surprisingly little help with multiple LLC home businesses. Some are "hobby" businesses, some are for profit. TurboTax was not very helpful with either.
Personal part of TurboTax is very nice to use, until the very end when I chose to e-file Federal and not pay $20 extra for a state e-file. After it e-filed the Federal, it had a page to remind me to print "all necessary state and federal paperwork". I knew I needed to mail a Federal 1040V payment, and I expected it to print my state forms too. Nope. I had to go manually find where to print, and print out the State forms. Could have been more helpful there." -

Review of TurboTax Home & Business - CD or Download 2009Pros:- streamlined, still easy to do tax calculations
Cons:- processes difficult to undo, Microsoft-quality "help"
"Would like to give it 3.5 stars, but can't -- almost emblematic of the inflexibility in this latest, more streamlined user interface. I have used Turbo-tax for many years, almost from when it first appeared. It is still a good program for doing taxes. But now, if you start a process, there seems to be no way to back out of it and end it -- case in point, the earned income tax credit, which I did not want to take ultimately, but did want to explore. It was very difficult to get Turbo-tax to "allow" me not to take it. And the Help Center is now non-communicative on a level with Microsoft products. I may have to try the competition finally!"
