"If you are a complete novice and know nothing about trusts and/or handling taxes, then you will still be a bit confused with this program especially where choice have to be made--i.e., filing elections, how to distribute to beneficiaries, etc. Some of the confusion is not the fault of the program and more the fault of not knowing how trusts work and that is where more help would be useful, although the live community does add something here."

"I think this was the smoothest year yet. I have been using Turbo tax business for 5 years now. This year's product was much smoother. I also use quickbooks premier and the combination of importing from the previous year's turbo tax and importing from quickbooks didn't work the first time around. I had to start over with a new tax file and re do the imports. Once that was completed it tied out nicely and was ready to submit."

Good Product - Poor Integration w/ Quickbooks

"I've been using TurboTax (both the Personal and Business editions) for years. The primary reason I use it is the Interview process it uses. It presents the tax questions in a way that I can understand, and when I want more information, I can get it with a click of a button.
I was very disappointed this year when I tried to Import my Quickbooks information. I tried for hours to no avail. From the message boards, it appears that I wasn't the only one who had trouble.
I also found that when I manually did the import by assigning items to Tax Lines, TurboTax would lose information when I tried to expand the column of the description field so that I could see what line item I was working on. This added more hours to the process because I had to re-enter information several times. This is a bug that needs to be fixed."

"If you are considering filing your corporation tax return, why would you even consider something other than Turbo Tax? The program is clearly written, takes you by the hand and leads you through the tangled tax code in a seamless and thorough journey. I have been a loyal Turbo Tax user for many or most of their products, for many years. Every year they top themselves in making the process of completing tax returns easy and almost fun! This is true for their Corporate package and for their Turbo Tax Deluxe package for personal tax returns. I'll be back again next year!"

"Your Smart Work Sheets are not smart. They cause more problems. Reconciling info on return with Smart Work Sheet are a pain. Your pass all reviews, then you efile and find out their are problems. Why can't the same review be preformed before you go to efile."

"I've used the home version of Turbo Tax since it was available. I find the product straight forward and easy to use. After all, I have to get all the info together to take it to a tax accountant, why not just enter it myself and save money? I like the Business Turbo Tax because I have a small LLC and this product assures me that I have all the needed forms, the math is correct, and keeps track of my depreciation. Wonderful!"

"Turbo tax for business is very buggy this year. I found that it asked me to repeatedly input the same info several times. Also although I hadd the number of stockholders as less than 100, it indicated that I had more than 100 which is an error and therefore would not let me efile."

Pros: the interview feature is easy to use and works for most issues.
Cons: however, the wrap-up is sometimes troublesome on the Corp return
"I have used this product for many years, so the import from prior year is great. My only problem is that there is always a problem with balancing either the Balance Sheet or the Income Statement due to round-off. This year the Prior Year balance field was greyed out so that I could not change it to my actual books number; it had the tax balance after adjustments. Took me almost an hour to back into the $1. roundoff amount and get a final print."

"This year's version seemed to make downloading from QB more difficult, especially if changes were made and you want to update to Tax program.
Our business is consistent [for over 10 years] as far as sources of income and expenses. This year TurboTax wanted to put items into different categories than in the past ... much as accountants used to do. This causes confusion on us non-accountants and makes it difficult to compare to prior years for accuracy.
The main reason we use this program is because of it [supposed] ease to download from QB.

"I have been a loyal and very pleased user of turbotax for the past 10 plus years. This is the first time that I have used the Business product. I need to file taxes for my mother's estate.
Compared to the personal product it is cumbersome.
Particularly irksome is the inability to download the 1099's from the broker house as I do with the on-line personal product."
