"My wife donates a ton of stuff to Goodwill Industries. Trying to figure out what something is worth would take a ton of man-hours. With TurboTax and iTsDeductible feature all that guessing is out the window. I just keep track of what I donate on the slip that Goodwill gives me and when it comes time to do the taxes and enter in the items, it's a snap. The only problem there seems to be is trying to relate Hawaiian stuff to it such as an Aloha Shirt or muumuu that gets donated.
But other than that, this program is the greatest for filing taxes yourself."

Cons: Overwrite feature confusing
"It was convenient to do it at home, because as options for deductions were presented - I was able to dig through home files to find receipts and exact figures. If I had gone to a tax preparer, I would have had to go home, find the items, hope I had gathered everything and that something else would not be required if more opportunities arose - and then would have had to schedule a time, during the tax preparer's hours to deliver and discuss the supporting documentation.
But, the Capital Gains/losses 1040 area had a requirement to fill out a wksht. Yet, it allowed me to overwrite on the 1040. Then when went to clear - it was a painful field by field check/uncheck overwrite process."
